West Bromwich Albion v Queens Park Rangers
Championship | The Hawthorns
Tuesday, 24 October 2023 @ 8.00pm
West Bromwich Albion are heavy favourites to keep all three points at home in Tuesday's late kick-off against Queens Park Rangers.
The Baggies, who sit ninth in the Championship with 12 games played, are priced at 1.6 to seal victory at the Hawthorns.
Sitting 13 places and nine points behind them in the table, QPR are 4.9 to win with betting companies, while the draw is at 3.9.
In Alex Palmer, West Brom can rely on one of the league's safest pair of hands. He has kept five clean sheets in his 12 appearances this season, and no 'keeper has prevented the opposition scoring more often in the Championship.
In QPR's net, Asmir Begović has two clean sheets in 12 games. He has conceded a goal every 49 minutes, 70% more often than the 83 minutes between goals for Palmer.
Albion are in mixed form in the Championship, with two wins and three draws from their last six games.
With no wins and two draws over that period, Rangers's form is much less good – they have taken two points from 18, compared to the Baggies's nine.
In the last 10 years, West Brom and QPR have played each other on 10 occasions. West Brom won five of them, QPR three, and they drew twice.
On average, the Baggies scored 2.2 goals and QPR 1.6 in those matches.
Their last meeting was on April 10, when they played out a 2-2 draw.
With nine goals in 12 games so far this season, the away side are the league's second-lowest scorers with 0.8 goals per game. And they are conceding more than average, letting in 22 goals at a rate of 1.8 per game.
The hosts, meanwhile, are above average scorers, with 1.5 goals per game, compared to a league average of 1.4. They have conceded 1.2 goals per game.
West Brom's last match was on Saturday, a 0-0 draw against Plymouth Argyle.
QPR lost 2-1 against Huddersfield Town last time out, also on Saturday, with Jake Clarke-Salter on the scoresheet.
