Sunderland Women host Blackburn Rovers Ladies at Eppleton Colliery Football Ground on early Sunday on the back of three consecutive wins in the FA Women's Championship.

Sunderland have picked up 14 points from their last six games, and they face a Rovers side who have lost their last four matches, and collected six points from the last possible 18.

Sunderland are top of the table after nine games, of which they have won six and drawn three, earning 21 points.

Blackburn Rovers are five places behind the home team in sixth, with four wins and five losses putting them on 12 points.

In Claudia Moan, Sunderland can rely on one of the league's safest pair of hands. She has kept five clean sheets in her nine appearances this season, and no 'keeper has prevented the opposition scoring more often in the FA Women's Championship.

In Rovers' net, Alexandra Brooks has three clean sheets in nine games. She has conceded a goal every 68 minutes, four times as often as the 270 minutes between goals for Moan.

With seven goals in nine games so far this season, the visitors are the league's second-lowest scorers with 0.8 goals per game. And they are conceding more than average, letting in 13 goals at a rate of 1.4 per game.

Sunderland, meanwhile, are average scorers, with 1.3 goals per game. They have conceded 0.4 goals per game.

Over the last two years, Sunderland and Blackburn Rovers have played each other on four occasions. Sunderland won one of them and Blackburn Rovers the other.

On average, Sunderland scored 0.5 goals and Rovers 1.0 in those matches.

Their last meeting was on April 30, when Blackburn Rovers won 1-0 away.

Sunderland's last match was on November 5, a 1-0 win against Durham Women, with Katie Kitching getting the goal for Sunderland.

Blackburn Rovers lost 3-0 against London City Lionesses last time out, also on November 5.
