Early relegation candidates Sheffield FC face a challenge against high-flying Stockton Town on Saturday.

Sheffield FC are rooted to the bottom of the Northern Premier League – Division One East table, and have picked up three wins and one draw in their 11 games to date.

Stockton, meanwhile, are third in the standings with 23 points, having won seven and drawn two of their first 12 matches, and are two points behind table-toppers Belper Town.

With 23 goals in 12 games so far this season, Stockton are the league's second-highest scorers with 1.9 goals per game. And they are conceding fewer than average, letting in 11 goals at a rate of 0.9 per game.

Sheffield FC, meanwhile, are below average scorers, with 1.5 goals per game, compared to a league average of 1.6. They have conceded 2.1 goals per game.

The hosts are in bad form in the Northern Premier League Division One East, with one win and five losses from their last six games.

With four wins and a draw over that period, Town's form is much better – they have taken 13 points from 18, compared to Sheffield FC's three.

Over the last year, Sheffield FC and Stockton have played each other twice. They won one each.

Their last meeting was on April 22, when Sheffield FC won 2-1 at home.

Sheffield FC's last match was on October 28, a 2-0 loss against Winterton Rangers.
