Queens Park Rangers v Leicester City

Championship | Loftus Road
Saturday, 28 October 2023 @ 3.00pm

Early relegation candidates Queens Park Rangers face a challenge against high-flying Leicester City at Loftus Road on Saturday.

Queens Park Rangers are 23rd in the Championship table, and have picked up two wins and two draws in their 13 games to date.

The Foxes, meanwhile, are top of the standings with 36 points, having won 12 and drawn none.

With 27 goals in 13 games so far this season, Leicester are the league's highest scorers with 2.1 goals per game. And they are conceding fewer than average, letting in seven goals at a rate of 0.5 per game.

QPR, meanwhile, are below average scorers, with 0.7 goals per game, compared to a league average of 1.4. They have conceded 1.8 goals per game.

Rangers are in terrible form in the Championship, with no wins and a draw from their last six games.

With six wins and no losses over that period, City's form is much better – they have taken 18 points from 18, compared to the hosts' one.

With Mads Hermansen between the sticks, the Foxes can rely on one of the league's safest pair of hands. He has kept five clean sheets in his 12 appearances this season, and only two other 'keepers – West Bromwich Albion's Alex Palmer and Ipswich Town's Václav Hladký – have been able to prevent the opposition scoring on more occasions in the Championship.

In QPR's net, Asmir Begović has two clean sheets in 13 games. He has conceded a goal every 49 minutes, three times as often as the 154 minutes between goals for Hermansen.

QPR's last match was on Tuesday, a 2-0 loss against West Bromwich Albion.

Leicester beat Sunderland 1-0 last time out, also on Tuesday, with Justin on the scoresheet.

Saturday's match will be refereed by Leigh Doughty, who has taken charge of two Championship games so far this season, issuing no red cards and booking five players. He has not awarded any penalties.

He is yet to oversee a match featuring either QPR or Leicester this season.
