Pontypridd Town AFC v Cardiff MU
Cymru Premier | Ynysangharad Park
Saturday, 28 October 2023 @ 2.30pm
Pontypridd Town AFC are on a poor run ahead of hosting Cardiff Met at Ynysangharad Park on Saturday, with just three points collected from their last six games.
The Dragons have picked up just one win in their last six Welsh Premier League games, and face an Archers side whose last six games have brought two wins and two draws.
With George Ratcliffe between the sticks, Pontypridd Town can rely on one of the league's safest pair of hands. He has kept six clean sheets in his 13 appearances this season, and no 'keeper has prevented the opposition scoring more often in Welsh Premier League.
In Cardiff's net, Alex Lang has five clean sheets in 13 games. He has conceded a goal every 62 minutes, 40% more often than the 84 minutes between goals for Ratcliffe.
With four goals in 13 games so far this season, the Dragons are the league's lowest scorers with 0.3 goals per game. But they are conceding fewer than average too, letting in 14 goals at a rate of 1.1 per game.
The Archers are also below average scorers, with 1.1 goals per game, compared to a league average of 1.5. They have conceded 1.6 goals per game.
The home side are ninth in the table after 13 games, of which they have won three and drawn three, earning 12 points.
The visitors are three places ahead of Pontypridd Town in sixth, with five wins and four draws putting them on 19 points.
Over the last year, Pontypridd Town and Cardiff have played each other twice. Cardiff won both of them.
Their last meeting was on September 8, when Cardiff won 2-0 at home.
Pontypridd Town's last match was on October 21, a 3-0 loss against Connah's Quay.
Cardiff lost 5-1 against Caernarfon Town last time out, also on October 21, with Donohue (own goal) on the scoresheet.
