FA Women's Championship | Princes Park
Sunday, 12 November 2023 @ 1.00pm

Birmingham City Women visit London City Lionesses at Princes Park on Sunday lunchtime on the back of three consecutive wins in the FA Women's Championship.

Birmingham City have picked up 13 points from their last six games, and they face a Lionesses side who have also won their last two matches, and collected six points from the last possible 18.

With 16 goals in nine games so far this season, Birmingham City are the league's third-highest scorers with 1.8 goals per game. And they are conceding fewer than average, letting in nine goals at a rate of 1.0 per game.

London City, meanwhile, are below average scorers, with 1.1 goals per game, compared to a league average of 1.3. They have conceded 1.7 goals per game.

With Grace Moloney between the sticks, the Lionesses can rely on one of the league's safest pair of hands. She has kept three clean sheets in her nine appearances this season, and only one other 'keeper – Sunderland Women's Claudia Moan – has been able to prevent the opposition scoring on more occasions in the FA Women's Championship.

In the Blues' net, Lucy Thomas has two clean sheets in nine games.

The away team are fifth in the table after nine games, of which they have won four and drawn two, earning 14 points.

The hosts are two places behind Birmingham City in seventh, with three wins and two draws putting them on 11 points.

Over the last year, London City and Birmingham City have played each other twice. London City won both of them.

Their last meeting was on February 12, when London City won 1-0 away.

London City's last match was on Sunday, a 3-0 win against Blackburn Rovers Ladies, with Danielle Carter, Lucy Fitzgerald and Maddi Wilde getting the goals for the Lionesses.

Birmingham City beat Reading Women 2-1 last time out, also on Sunday, with Charlotte Devlin on the scoresheet.
