Leicester City v Leeds United
Championship | King Power Stadium
Friday, 3 November 2023 @ 8.00pm
Two of the Championship's top sides face each other at the King Power Stadium in Friday's late kick-off, when table-topping Leicester City host third-placed Leeds United.
Leicester have picked up 13 wins from 14 games so far this season, and sit 14 points above the visitors going into the 8pm match.
Leeds, meanwhile, have won seven and drawn four, picking up 25 points.
With 29 goals in 14 games so far this season, Leicester are the league's joint-highest scorers with 2.1 goals per game. And they are conceding fewer than average, letting in eight goals at a rate of 0.6 per game.
Leeds are also above average scorers, with 1.7 goals per game, compared to a league average of 1.4. They have conceded 1.1 goals per game.
City are in exceptional form in the Championship, with six wins and no losses from their last six games.
With four wins and two losses over that period, United's form is much worse – they have taken 12 points from 18, compared to the Foxes' 18.
In the last 10 years, Leicester and Leeds have played each other on eight occasions. Leicester won five of them, Leeds one, and they drew twice.
On average, the Foxes scored 1.8 goals and Leeds 0.9 in those matches.
Their last meeting was on April 25, when they played out a 1-1 draw.
With Mads Hermansen between the sticks, the home side can rely on one of the league's safest pair of hands. He has kept five clean sheets in his 13 appearances this season, and only two other 'keepers – West Bromwich Albion's Alex Palmer and Ipswich Town's Václav Hladký – have been able to prevent the opposition scoring on more occasions in the Championship.
In the visitors' net, Illan Meslier also has five clean sheets in 14 games. He has conceded a goal every 97 minutes, 50% more often than the 146 minutes between goals for Hermansen.
Leicester's last match was on Saturday, a 2-1 win against Queens Park Rangers, with Harry Winks and Stephy Mavididi getting the goals for the Foxes.
Leeds beat Huddersfield Town 4-1 last time out, also on Saturday, with Crysencio Summerville (two) and Daniel James (two) on the scoresheet.
