CD Eldense v CD Tenerife

Segunda División | Estadio Municipal Nuevo Pepico Amat
Saturday, 2 December 2023 @ 3.15pm

CD Tenerife come to the Estadio Municipal Nuevo Pepico Amat to play CD Eldense on Saturday in terrible form, having collected just two points from their last six games.

The visitors have drawn two and lost four of their last six fixtures, while CD Eldense have three wins and two draws.

With 15 goals in 17 games so far this season, Tenerife are scoring at below the league average rate with 0.9 goals per game. But they are conceding fewer than average too, letting in 16 goals at a rate of 0.9 per game.

Eldense, meanwhile, are above average scorers, with 1.3 goals per game, compared to a league average of 1.2. They have conceded 1.4 goals per game.

In Juan Soriano Oropesa, CD Tenerife can rely on one of the league's safest pair of hands. He has kept seven clean sheets in his 17 appearances this season, and only two other 'keepers – Sporting Gijón's Orlando Rubén Yáñez Alabart and Leganés' Diego Conde – have been able to prevent the opposition scoring on more occasions in the Segunda División.

In CD Eldense's net, Andoni Zubiaurre has three clean sheets in nine games. He has conceded a goal every 116 minutes, only slightly more often than the 118 minutes between goals for Soriano Oropesa.

The visitors are ninth in the table after 17 games, of which they have won seven and drawn three, earning 24 points.

The home side are two places behind Tenerife in 11th, with six wins and five draws putting them on 23 points.

Eldense's last match was on Monday, a 2-0 loss against Sporting Gijón.

Tenerife drew 1-1 with FC Cartagena last time out, on Sunday, with Ángel Rodríguez on the scoresheet.
