Championship | Ashton Gate
Saturday, 4 November 2023 @ 3.00pm
Struggling Sheffield Wednesday face Bristol City away at Ashton Gate on Saturday looking to build on a win in their last league outing.
After securing all three points with a 2-0 victory over Rotherham United on October 29, the Owls sit bottom of the Championship.
They travel to play a City side 14th in the standings, who lost in their last match, 2-0 against Cardiff City, on October 28.
In the last 10 years, City and Wednesday have played each other on 12 occasions. City won three of them, Wednesday six, and they drew three times.
On average, the Robins scored 1.4 goals and the Owls 1.3 in those matches.
Their last meeting was on April 17 2021, when they played out a 1-1 draw.
City are in disappointing form in the Championship, with two wins and four losses from their last six games.
With a win and a draw over that period, Wednesday's form is slightly worse – they have taken four points from 18, compared to the Robins' six.
With seven goals in 14 games so far this season, the Owls are the league's lowest scorers with 0.5 goals per game. And they are conceding more than average, letting in 22 goals at a rate of 1.6 per game.
The hosts are also below average scorers, with 1.1 goals per game, compared to a league average of 1.4. They have also conceded 1.1 goals per game.
